GREECE - from Democracy to Deptocracy

(4 votes)

DEMOCRACY, in modern usage, is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament.

The concept DEBTOCRACY is explained in the documentary movie Debtocracy, by Katerina Kitidi and Aris Chatzistefanou, which examines the causes of the GREEK debt crisis in 2010 and advocates for the default of "odious debt".
DEMOCRACY we all know what it means: the power of the people, a concept emerging in ancient GREECE; DEBTOCRACY is a term that has recently appeared - accidentally or not, also in GREECE - and would translate into "the power of debt" or metaphorical, "the power of money" (i.s.)
